This winter is lasting forever, at least for tonight...
Everyone wonders what their life would have been like...
It feels like a fragment to type, or to say aloud. It's a sentence that wants another clause at the end. One that would start with an if. But really, it's true without the ifs, because the ifs are infinite.
We've lived these lives because we make decisions at the time they are presented, not afterwards. Or we are all in different places, doing the work we want to do, living in a new place, having new experiences, or we are all together in one place, living in a safe and fun environment, or we are somewhere in the middle.
If you are in the safe place, you wonder what's out there. If you are out on your own, you think you could be missing something with your friends, your loved ones.
Sometimes you think you could live forever at 21 years old, single and drinking with your friends. But all your friends have to stay 21 and at the bar too. They won't.
Enjoy the time you have with each other, and enjoy the changes that come in your lives. Be happy that people are happy.
Happy Christmas.
